Sharing the Love: Celebrating the MRG Team

Resident reviews have been a big part of our Summer of Love at MRG Apartments — but residents aren’t the only ones sharing the love this season.

Over the past few months, team members and property leaders across MRG have been taking time to recognize the people they work alongside every day. From outstanding service and problem-solving to leadership, kindness and decades of dedication, there is plenty to celebrate.

Team Members Making a Difference

Across our communities, property leaders shared some of the people who have gone above and beyond this summer.

At Midtown Place, Paul Van de Vuurst was recognized for his continued dedication to the communities he helps maintain — especially meaningful as Paul recently celebrated 34 years with MRG.

At The Magnolias at Hernando, Brandon was recognized for his positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to doing the job the right way.

At Monticello, Will Evans was praised for being motivated, dependable and willing to take ownership in caring for the community.

The MRG Rovers team, including Ronnie Booker, was recognized for the hard work they provide across communities, particularly when stepping in to support make-ready units and property teams wherever they are needed.

At Southcrest Lake, Phillip Cook was praised for the care he gives to the pool, grounds, staff and residents.

And at The Ellington at Kirby, Demetrius White received a particularly thoughtful shout-out for the compassion he shows residents. During the summer heat, Dee has made a point to check on elderly residents, help carry groceries and step in when he sees someone who may need a hand.

Coworkers Sharing the Love

Some of our favorite recognition this summer has also come directly from coworkers.

Torez Walker recently recognized Ginger Mark and Heather Higgins for their problem-solving skills and professionalism, calling out the way they worked through a challenging situation together. He also recognized Heather separately for her leadership and the way she handles difficult situations. The appreciation goes both ways at @the Park. Ginger recognized Torez for always being kind, friendly and willing to help.

At Midtown Place, manager Andrea Bradley recognized her regional manager, Nikki Westmoreland for the mentorship she provides.

Those small moments of recognition say a lot. Great teamwork is not only about getting the job done — it is also about noticing when the people around you are doing something especially well.

Celebrating Years of Dedication

Summer has also brought some pretty incredible MRG anniversaries.

Paul Van de Vuurst and Leon Archer have each reached 34 years with MRG. Wendy Anderson recently celebrated 22 years, and Phillip Cook marked 19 years with the company.

Those milestones represent decades of knowledge, relationships, hard work and commitment to MRG and the communities we serve. We are incredibly grateful to have that kind of experience on our team. And we’re proud to say that kind of longevity is not unusual at MRG — many of our team members have built their careers here over the course of decades.

We’re also happy to welcome Candice Hardaway back to MRG, where she recently rejoined the team as Property Manager at the Signature at Schilling Farms.

Our Summer of Love may have started with resident reviews, but the appreciation happening within our own team deserves a spotlight, too.

Whether it is helping a resident, supporting a coworker, solving a difficult problem, taking pride in a community or simply being someone others can count on, those everyday contributions add up.
