International Dog Day was Wednesday. We know.

In our defense, it is still the dog days of summer—and around the MRG marketing team, every day is Dog Day. Our four-legged supervisors have agreed to accept this slightly belated celebration, provided treats are distributed immediately.

The cats got their moment in the spotlight earlier this month, so it is only fair to celebrate the dogs who make our homes happier, our walks longer and our floors considerably furrier.

  • Make walks interesting. Letting your dog stop and sniff provides mental enrichment in addition to physical exercise.
  • Try indoor enrichment. Puzzle feeders, treat hunts and short training sessions can help keep dogs occupied when the Memphis heat makes a long walk less appealing.
  • Be a good neighbor. Keep your dog leashed in shared areas, clean up after walks and be mindful of barking and other residents.
