Located in southeast Shelby County, Germantown is an upscale suburb of Memphis. It is a tightly-knit community and is ranked the safest city of its size in the Southeast. The distance from the Germantown Municipal Center to downtown Memphis is approximately 17 miles.

The award-winning Germantown Parks and Recreation department has a mission to strengthen the community and create quality recreation and leisure experiences. This community has 700 acres of parkland, the highest percentage of municipal acreage devoted to parks in Tennessee. In fact, a park area can be found within one mile of most residences in Germantown.

The Germantown Greenway is a linear park that will eventually connect all the parks in a 22-mile loop encircling the city.  The Wolf River Nature Area offers picnic areas, meadows, aquatic plant and animal displays, butterfly gardens, and more. The Germantown Athletic Club is a full-service recreational facility featuring more than 9,000 square feet of fitness space, an indoor pool, two outdoor pools, racquetball courts and a basketball court.  The Germantown Performing Arts Centre began a tradition of excellence in the arts with a performance by the legendary Ray Charles in 1995. Today, GPAC is the place where major artists in many different genres come together to perform.

Germantown is the host of TPC Southwind which presents the annual FedEx-St. Jude PGA golf tournament each June.  This mixed-use neighborhood is also the home of the FedEx World Headquarters, Thomas and Betts, and a major distribution center and office for Nike.

Collierville

Collierville is an affluent suburb east of Memphis. It is well-kept with a rich history and plenty of small town charm. Collierville, chosen as one of Relocate-America’s Top 100 Places to Live in 2008, is located in the southeast corner of Shelby County, approximately 30 miles from downtown Memphis. The Avenue at Carriage Crossing offers a modern open-air mall featuring department stores, restaurants, and boutiques. Collierville’s traditional destination for visitors is the Historic Square, in the center of downtown. This quaint shopping destination boasts trendy shops, fun eateries, and a tree-lined park, all overlooking the old train depot from which the town grew. Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville, serves the medical needs of the town’s residents. This town is also known for their Biblical Resource Center and Museum. This hands-on museum is dedicated to illustrating the historical significance of the Bible. The FedEx World Technology Center is located in Collierville, as are the Shelby County locations of PepsiCo and Carrier.
