The Magnolias Partners with Desoto Dream Center to Support Local Families
December 4, 2025
At MRG, some of the most inspiring moments come not from big announcements or new amenities, but from the steady kindness that flows through our communities every day. Our teams and residents have a way of seeing a need and stepping toward it—together—and this season has been no exception.
This week, The Magnolias at Hernando delivered their holiday donations to the Desoto Dream Center, an organization doing remarkable work for families across DeSoto County. For Property Manager Andrea Oaks, the visit was especially meaningful. “This was my first time seeing the Dream Center in person,” she shared. “It is incredible what they are doing for families in Desoto County!”
Andrea’s leadership—and the generosity of her residents—reminds us how powerful one community can be when people decide to lift others up. Her passion shines through in every answer that follows.

Q&A with Andrea Oaks, Property Manager at The Magnolias
What inspired you to get involved in this year’s donation drive with the Desoto Dream Center?
I attend Compel Church in Southaven, MS and that is when I first learned about the Dream Center. I knew immediately, I could get my residents involved in helping our community.
What does it mean to you to see residents supporting local families during the holidays?
It means everything. I think times are very hard for a lot of families and if we can make a difference with just one family, it makes it extremely worth it.
How do programs like this strengthen the sense of community at The Magnolias?
I believe it strengthens the community at the Magnolias by showing them they have a management company and staff at the Magnolias that not only care about them but the community we work/live in.

How do the relationships you have with residents shape how you think about giving back?
Getting to know the residents makes giving back feel natural. I have seen what people are going through and the smallest gesture can mean the world to them.
What do you hope residents and the community take away from this year’s donation drop-off?
I hope the residents know they are making a difference no matter how big or small of a donation they gave, it makes an impact.
