Adjusting your thermostat is a great way to save energy all year long.

  • Adjust your refrigerator – It will amaze you when you learn that 20% of your electric bill comes from your refrigerator. Check and make sure your energy saver switch is operational. Turn your freezer temperature to 3 degrees.
  • Adjust your water heater – 120 degrees F. is fine. If for some reason you need hotter water at any given time you can always set it higher until the need is gone.
  • Adjust your Thermostat – If you have an adjustable thermostat set it for 68 degrees for winter days and 55 at night. Adjust it to 76 in the summer. Once your body gets used to these temperatures you will be very comfortable and, at the same time, conserve energy.
