Judges discuss a painting entered in the annual art exhibition by Memphis City and Shelby County high school students.

Several years ago, Memphis International Airport launched a local visual art contest. Students were challenged to capture what they loved about their city. Judges selected the winner based on theme, concept, composition, and craftsmanship. More than 400 students from 35 schools submitted entries, from which 44 were selected to become paintings for the Airport’s exhibition along the walkway connectors. Check it out next time you are at the airport!
