Protect Your Pipes from Freezing

Watch for falling temps.With extreme cold comes the danger of freezing pipes, which can result in a burst pipe and flooding. To avoid these problems, leave cabinet doors open to allow warmer air to circulate around the pipes. When temperatures drop below freezing, it’s a good idea to take the added precaution of leaving a slight flow of water from the faucet. If you will be gone over night during an extreme cold spell, be sure to leave some heat on in your apartment and follow the other tips to avoid coming home to a wet, cold and unpleasant surprise.
