Managing Stress During COVID-19

November 17, 2020

By now, most all of us have felt moments or even hours of stress resulting from the impact of COVID-19. Here are four simple tips to help reduce that stress:

  1. Limit media consumption and be sure to seek out reliable information sources when you look for news.
  2. Get some fresh air. It’s not only refreshing but, as we’ve learned, being outdoors is one of the safer places to be during COVID-19.
  3. Get your mind on something else. Do something productive, like deep-cleaning your apartment, making something – from a new recipe to a fun DIY project.  Or exercise, whether that’s a brisk walk, a bike ride or a little stretching or yoga.
  4. Get a good night of sleep.  When we’re more rested, we are generally less stressed!  Try for 8 hours every night.  And maintain a good sleep schedule by going to bed and getting up at about the same times each day.
